Making this one change will end your career suffering

Suffering in silence isn’t a smart strategy.

But yet, so many of us do it. We show up at our jobs each day unengaged, disinterested, or drowning in soul-crushing work. We might be too afraid to change, feel that we’ve committed too much time and energy in our current career path, or believe the financial implications are too challenging to navigate.

Why is it that we only reach out for help or share that we need change in our careers when we get laid off or unexpectedly lose our job?

We settle for being #opentowork when we have no other choice, but why don’t we put feelers out when things seem “okay” at work, but really aren’t?

I know all about suffering in silence. I first started seriously contemplating a career change at 27, but it took until I was 31 to make that change happen. Over the course of almost 4 years, I suffered in silence.

I didn’t share my hopes and dreams with others, even in personal conversations.

I continued to show up to work unfulfilled, burnt out, and not utilizing my creative potential.

Had I known there were people who I could reach out to that have actually changed careers and found happiness, I wouldn’t have felt so defeated. I would’ve realized that change is possible and that it can be done much faster than I realized.

Yet I completely get why most of us don’t post about wanting to change careers on LinkedIn.

Especially with bosses, colleagues, and even our internal company recruiters lurking.

But instead of suffering in silence, like I did, what if you had someone in your corner you could talk to?

What if you could share the fears that have held you back from reinventing your career? Or what would happen if you talked through what excited you about a potential change, reassuring yourself that you’re indeed on the right path?

Well, you don’t have to suffer in silence any longer.

I’m offering free 30-minute Career Clarity calls, where you can share these challenges with me. I’ll ask you some questions, get to know your struggles, and you’ll walk away knowing exactly what to do next in your career change.
